Fanconi Anemia (Type C)
Fanconi Anemia (Type C) is a blood disorder associated with short stature, bone marrow failure, limb abnormalities and a predisposition to leukemia and other cancers. Many children with Fanconi Anemia don't survive to adulthood.
Approximately 1 in 89 Ashkenazi Jews is a carrier of Type C Fanconi Anemia. Screening provides a carrier detection rate of approximately 95%.
